In the United Kingdom, trademarks are registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO). Since Brexit, an EU trade mark no longer protects in the United Kingdom: you need a UK trademark or to designate the United Kingdom in an international registration. Fees rose on 1 April 2026, and anyone based abroad needs an address for service in the United Kingdom.
